I just received my service grade Springfield Armory M1 Garand and It is beautiful. I was reluctant to purchase a surplus rifle sight unseen but after receiving my rifle I could not be more satisfied. The rifle was in beautiful shape and the customer service I received was excellent. I mailed my paperwork to the CMP on October 29^th and my rifle was delivered to me on November 25th, well ahead of the estimated 180 days. You want to talk about a great early Christmas present well, this is it. I would like to take this time to thank Melissa Smith and Nina Michaels who kept me in the loop on the progress of my purchase. I would also like to give a special thank you to Vicky who called me on the phone and answered all my questions concerning my order. I apologize for not getting your last name Vicky but you are a sweetheart. Last but not least I would like to thank all the armorers at the CMP for the fine work that they do. As far as I am concerned the CMP is a very professional organization and they could teach a lot of companies what customer service is all about. I look forward to making additional purchases from the CMP and for those of you who are sitting on the fence about a rifle purchase I say DO IT!. You will not be sorry .  Kurt K.

Dear Mr. Anderson, Thanks again for helping me to enjoy shooting at the Western Games again. Even though I do not do well I do not do bad considering. But I have fun and that is the main thing about the CMP Games.   You are lucky to have such a great team from both locations supporting you and Orest.

I want to thank the CMP folks for a job well done.  This was my first CMP purchase, and you have another very satisfied customer.  First, your one month order fulfillment time was an unexpected surprise.  Second, I was more than satisfied with the workmanship on my CMP Special.  Please pass on my personal thanks to whoever assembled this rifle.  Finally, and most importantly, the rifle performed flawlessly during its initial firing.  Using American Eagle Garand ammo and knowledge gained from the CMP Forums, I tested the rifle with the included eight-round clip as well as separately obtained single and two-round versions.  All performed perfectly.  Again, my thanks to all involved! Dear CMP, I just want to say thank-you. My M1 Garand gave a 2.50" group at 100yd and 3.50" group at 200yd with my hand loads. I have a 1942 Winchester that is 90% Winchester and I did not want to shoot it to mush. I am a NRA certified RSO and work the range every Monday and now I have a Garand that will give me many hours of fun shooting. Thank You Again. Thomas F. WA

Dear CMP, My M 1 Garand arrived just a short 61 days from the time I placed the order.  It is a beautiful example and was admired by everyone at the range.  I must tip my hat to the men that carried it day in and day out during WWII and the Korean War.  I trained with and used the M16A1 so using this rifle is quite an experience.   I also want to say thank you for the phone call about being out of ammo for the M1.  I was able to find a can of the Greek ammo you offered, unfortunately at twice the price, in time to have it when the rifle arrived. You communications by phone and email through my purchase possess have been outstanding. Instead of watching Thanksgiving football games today, I am going back to the range for some more time with my M-1. Thank you,. Henry L. J. Lawrence, KS

Dear CMP, Last Monday I received my service grade M1 Garand, serial number in the 5.8 million range. It’s beautiful – the stock is in very good condition, the metal is likewise in great shape. Guessing the bore by dropping a cartridge in the barrel, I would guess the 3.2-3.4 range. I finally got to go shooting yesterday. I asked for a gun that has the potential to shoot well. I got what I asked for, plus! This rifle is a shooter: at 25 yards, I had a sub-2” group. At 50 yards, it was a 4” group. Bear in mind: these were my first clips! I’m looking forward to my next range session – I’ll try it at 100 yards and see how it does.

Quick story: I have a couple of WWII vets in my church, one of whom is a gun enthusiast like myself. I had told him I ordered a Garand and I would bring it by when it got here. Last Monday I opened the box, took some pictures, and immediately boxed it up and went to his house. Having received permission, I took the gun into the house and opened the bolt and placed the rifle in his lap. He sat there for almost a minute in silence, stroking the wood and metal. He hefted the gun, sighted down the barrel, and put it back in his lap. In that husky voice men have when trying not to cry he said, “That sure is a beautiful rifle…brings back lots of memories.” I promised him that as soon as he fells well and the weather cooperates, I’ll pick him up and take him shooting. Sir, I received My M1 a while back. It was a few weeks before I had a chance to fire it. IT holds an inch and a quarter group at 100 yds. (shaky as I am) I couldn't be happier. My father only ever talked of one rifle " wow how those M 1's would shoot!" Every time I pick it up I can see the smile on his face. He is gone now. Thank you for what you do for sentimental ol' goats like me.  This treasure will be pasted on to my grandson. And the story will go on. May the Lord bless you and yours. Stuart S.

Hi,  I just received a M1 Garand from you this morning and it is perfect !. Could not have ask for a better looking rifle, it is mint. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to own a piece of history that looks like it was just made. Also communications to me of the different stages the rifle was going through from initial order all the way up till it was at my door was great. I have to tell you how happy I am with my M-1 Garand. I bought the special edition, and it is a fine piece of work. It looks great, it shoots great, and is just plain GREAT! Hi, I received the CMP special M1 Garand and the ammunition that I ordered the week before last, and I just wanted to let you know how impressed and pleased I am with the whole purchase. The Rifle is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in the dark walnut stock, and after "breaking in" the barrel and sighting it in at the range, I am amazed at it's consistent accuracy at 100 yards with iron sights. The ammunition is excellent as well. I have had many compliments on it at the range in just one day, and have told several admirers where to go and get one of their own - only at the CMP!
