To my Dear Friends at CMP, I would like to take this opportunity to compliment your organization and two of your employees who helped me with an E-Store issue over the last two day. I would especially like to thank Judy Wade for her patience, understanding, and her willingness to help. Judy and her supervisor Melody Davis were able to decipher my ramblings and help me complete an order that was "crashed" in the E-Store, saving me almost $50.00 in the process due to an overnight price increase. That kind of honesty, integrity and dedication to customer satisfaction are what will keep me coming back to CMP in the future. They are to be commended. Respectfully Submitted. Douglas R. (USMC Ret.)

CMP Staff, I drove 5 plus hours to get to the Northern Store on March 14 and was a bit disappointed to find that due the extremely high sales volume the M1 Garand selection was rather slim and all the ammo was gone but a couple boxes of 22LR. I originally had set my sights on a Service Grade Garand but there were only two to select from and I honestly didn't like either. I discussed my plight with the CMP staff and explained that I was not looking for a collectors item to hang on the wall but rather a good solid rifle that had lots more rounds left in it. They were very helpful and I was directed to a Field Grade Garand that was a real mixed bag of both manufacturers and wood, but was told that she was a solid weapon with many rounds left to go.  I made my purchase and headed home to begin striping and refinishing the wood. After several days of work, some walnut stain and six applications of Tung Oil, she is all back together and looking great. With the help of those on the CMP forums I have her BSZ at 200 Yards. With the help of the CMP Customer Service staff I am set up on the EStore and have an order in for several cans of 30-06 ammo to enjoy my new (at least to me) M1 Garand with my sons. Thank you for all of the help, Sincerely, William P. B.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful M1 I just received. Ever since we shot the M1 at Fort Bragg while taking a break from training I've been interested in the weapon. At the time I was a Marine.  We had shot the obvious standard issue M16's as well as shot match with the M14 and several or our custom Remingtons, but never the original M1 that started it all. While at the Fort the Army instructors checked out several of what they called "antiques". Seems the Army had countless numbers of the M1's "just laying around". I'm sure they were more secured than described.  The M1's we shot were in "well used" condition. I was amazed at how well they shot and how well balanced they were. Being left handed I appreciated the trajectory of the shell casing (the M16 and 14 tended to kick it into my cheek).  Now I have my very own M1. I ordered it back on December as a Christmas present. My wife had asked what I wanted and I told her. She said to order it and count it as my present. I am beyond happy with my rifle. Not only is is a WWII era SN#, but it is in perfect shape. I've done the first tear down to clean it and have found no evidence of wear! It is COMPLETELY original and in excellent shape. I believe this rifle could have graded much higher than the Service Grade I ordered. I couldn't have expected more. To think this rifle was made in May of 1944 and never was issued is amazing. The wait was well worth it. I've asked for a second rifle for fathers day. I cannot express my gratitude to the CMP staff for dealing with the onslaught of a huge wave of orders. I hope I see my second rifle before they are all gone. I do not know what the future will bring for rifles from this era, but I hope they will be collected and respected by all for many years to come. You program is greatly appreciated, I'm sure you have had your fair share of back lash from the rush on guns. Bravo to your staff for being able to process the orders that have almost doubled. Just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with the quality of MY rifle, it is one of my most cherished possessions. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! Leonard P. Very happy customer

Hi,  I just wanted to take some time to thank all those at CMP for a job well done.  I purchased a service grade Inland carbine.   I couldn’t be happier with the selection you sent (arrived today, as a matter of fact).  When I first sent in the order, I had a bunch of questions (via email) that your folks answered promptly and professionally, even though I know you were swamped.  I was patient and rewarded with a nice rifle.  Thank you again for the service you provide.  Best Regards . Lee

Dear CMP-  I recently received a service grade M1 Garand from you after there was a fair amount of confusion on my original order for an HRA special.  After nearly 3 months, I agreed to take a service grade and was sincerely disappointed when I opened the box. This order was a nightmare from the beginning.  I was told I would get a HRA Special if I submitted my order and I did so, then I received an email that I would not get one.  I spoke with several very nice young ladies in customer service who really tried to help and looked forward to receiving my new service grade rifle. When I opened the box it looked as if someone had placed the muzzle on a cement driveway and spun it around repeatedly.  The park was fair at best and the usual mixed parts, but I was shocked at the muzzle.  Quite frankly, I think it should have been rated a rack grade at best. I sent it to a gunsmith to repair the muzzle. When he received my rifle, he was shocked ( he thought I was telling a story ) because it was exactly as I described. Anyway, I think it would be a big help to everyone if you would show pictures representative of the different grades, not just a written description.  I've read several feedbacks and everyone is shocked at the good condition of their rifle, but evidently I drew the short straw.  I look at your ad in the Shotgun News and felt that my gun would look like that.  That must be a photo of a collector grade you sent them.  I went ahead under the advice of my gunsmith and had my rifle reworked and now have  invested much more than I originally anticipated. So if at possible, please add some photos to your website so consumers will realize what they will get as opposed to expecting something like the ads in magazines.  Thank you,  Tom D.

Thank you, for all your efforts. The times you eat lunch at your desk and come to work early and leave late. I know its not easy, but I am very, very pleased. I am the very proud owner of a fine rifle that is an honest slice of history straight from the heart of our nation. As I type this, the rifle you sent me, has been cleaned, lubricated, oiled and is sitting in a safe along side other honest WWII era rifles awaiting a trip to the range when the weather gets warmer.  It will NOT be stripped down and sold piecemeal to the highest bidder, but will have a warm, dry spot in my safe to be passed on for many generations to come. Thank you again for all that you do. Best wishes, Bryce S .

Just got my barreled receiver, it's in great shape. Better than I could have hoped for! Built it into a good looking shooter and the headspace was right on the money. Carbine service grade was in outstanding condition.  Looks like it went through the new cleaner, squeaky clean. A little linseed oil and the stock looked great. Hope to see you in the fall at the Garand Collectors Convention. Thanks, Steve in St. Louis
