I just received my (WRAR) rifle this morning and it's a really great one - with lots of "character". I already have taken it all apart to clean. The rifle is a just a beauty!! Thanks again, Debbie G. February 26, 2009Dear Folks at CMP .Just a quick note to thank you for sending me a Beautiful Winchester M! rifle. Except for some minor finish wear on the gas cylinder, lock, and plug, the black finish - Parkerizing? is 95% plus. The rifle is in one of your new CMP stocks and the wood grain and color is Gorgeous. It has a SA Bolt, SA 6-51 Barrel shiny bore sharp lands. No Gages but bullet test shows M2 ball sticks out of muzzle approx. 1/4''. HRA trigger group, HRA op rod. A Mixmaster true, but a Beautiful rifle none the less, and any changes that were made to her were just part of the history of this particular rifle. The best part is, she now belongs to me. I am a very happy and proud owner. Thanks again. You guys do an Awesome job for us. Mike D. February 25, 2009Hello, just like to drop a quik note to say I love my M1 rifle that I ordered over 4 years ago. I know im kind of behind in writing this. I used my rifle on a hunting trip in michigan and got a nice deer with it. The deer was on the run and was droped with one shot. My rifle is a 54 spring field ,I also have used it for CMP shooting matchs and target shooting before my 1year deployment to Iraq. Thinking of all this ,kind of motivated me to say thank you CMP. RICHARD B US ARMY February 24, 2009I received my Garand and WOW! A beautiful specimen. The stock is a little rough but everything else - barrel, receiver, bolt, etc. - is in great shape. Once it was in my hand, the memories came flooding back to my youth. Amazing how quickly things drilled into your head come back to you. Thank you for running a super program. Tony M . February 24, 2009To ALL at CMP – This is an open letter of thanks to all at the CMP. I’ve
been a customer for the last several years and only have words of praise for the
outstanding customer service provided me by you. One recent example is a
case in point. Ms. Vicki Garner went above and beyond to notify me of and
help me resolve a credit card issue with my recent order for a WRA M1 Garand.
Given the demand for these rifles, the CMP really didn’t need to spend the
extra time. Additionally, your armory staff has always answered my
questions about how to make minor repairs. I’ve taken the
Garand and Vintage rifle class and have fired all the rifles I have purchased
from you. The quality of the rifles has always been better than I had
expected. I now shoot NRA high power and small bore and have fired in Vintage
Rifle matches. I have also brought others into the sport, including my
son. Your CMP programs and most importantly, your dedicated people,
have made me one satisfied customer. Well done. A.

I have ordered several rifles from the CMP over the years which I was very
pleased with both from the regular website and the auction site as well. I
have never been disappointed and have recommended to many friends who are
eligible and desire military rifles to also purchase them from the CMP. The
quality is much better than you would expect and I was not able to do better
when I made a drive out to Port Clinton Ohio to get a firsthand look in
person. The staff was very helpful in all cases as well. Joel H .

I drove 5 hours one way to Anniston CMP to buy an M1 Garand
today. The entire staff was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely
helpful. They made the entire 12 hour round trip worth while. I could not be
more happy with the experience and the Garand that I brought home. I'm taking
my son next time to pick out his own. Thank you.

February 14, 2009Thank You for all the hard work you’ll do in support of competitive shooting!! I really like the Distinguished Shooter look up lists. Is there a similar list for the Presidents 100? That would be real GOOD! Anyway. Thanks Again, Bryan W. February 12, 2009I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at the Camp Perry facility for making my trip to purchase my first M-1 a very memorable occasion. One staff member "Honk" spent about 45 minutes with me, giving me very valuable information. I was unsure of what to expect during my drive up from Virginia but the entire process took 1 hour. Now I have a beautiful M-1 that I will hold in a place of honor for those who have served and continue to serve our country. Thanks for offering this program to allow me and others like me to obtain a wonderful piece of history. I will go again and purchase one for each of my sons. Thank You. Jay C . Centreville Virginia February 11, 2009I just wanted to let you know how pleased I was when I opened the shipping box on my new Winchester Service Grade M1 Garand. I received it in very good condition, and it had brand new CMP wood and metal. It looks outstanding. I could not be more pleased. Thank you, your staff, and all the workers there for doing and outstanding job. Royce C. H . Flint, TX February 6, 2009
Hi, I am a 69 year old Navy Vet and haven't shot an M-1 Garand since bootcamp
days in 1957 @ Camp Elliot, near San Diego, California. I was the Guard
Mail Petty Officer for our ship, and had to pack a .45 Colt when carrying
Ship's mail. I have always wanted to own an M-l Garand, and I hope I can
get a fairly nice one from CMP one of these days, perhaps in 2009. Thank
You for being there and for providing such a wonderful opportunity
for America's Youth to enjoy shooting at its finest! Keep up the
great work, and Thanks Again. Ed B. in Ely, NV.

Hi, I just received my Winchester Carbine via Fed-X. Upon
inspection, I found a truly delightful Carbine. It is in terrific
shape, much better than I have been led to believe upon some forums.
Its almost to nice to shoot. However, I have a couple of grandsons
that will go plum nuts when they see it, and we will all go to the range and
fire it. I might add that I qualified with a carbine in 1961 in the USAF.
This is my first gun purchase from CMP and it was a very gratifying
experience. In closing, I want thank everyone involved with, the
paperwork, the selection, and the shipping of this Carbine. Your hard
work is very much appreciated. Craig S .
February 4, 2009I would like to thank you for the bottom of my heart for the beautiful M1 Garand that I received last week. It is much, much nicer than I was expecting (Thanks to the person that picked it out, initials CE). It is also a fine shooter. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to be the proud new owner of a Garand. I'm trying to refrain and act like the 35 year old adult that I am, but in all honesty I feel like a little child on Christmas day. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!! All the people at CMP are doing a great and patriotic service to your country. Thank you very much, Robb M. PS - in a week or so you'll be receiving my order for my M1 Carbine and 1903 Springfield. February 4, 2009I ordered and received a barreled receiver from you, It's condition was better that I expected. I converted a Garand with a commercial receiver to one with Springfield receiver and barrel. I also have a Garand purchased from you Jan/Feb 2007, it was also in better condition than expected. There was one problem with the front hand guard, it was dented and cracked, I replaced the hand guard. Hope to purchase a Carbine next time. LFC MSG Ret
