CMP Staff,  Your range is wonderful.  I especially liked the lights and the air conditioning.  Thanks for all your hard work preparing for the Junior Olympics.  I got the privilege to shoot both the Sporter & Air Pistol matches.  It wouldn’t have been possible without all of you.  Thanks for your herculean efforts to have the range ready for us.  Nathan E. S, Lafayette Gun Club

I wish every company or retail store had employees like yours, I spent the weekend for the M-16 match and SAFS and like so many others I was at the CMP store every day. Even though the store was crowded and crazy the employees were friendly, helpful and courteous. The director must be very proud of his staff. My very best wishes to each and every one of them. Sincerely, Dave B.

I recently placed an order including a service grade IBM carbine. I received an email today from Jennifer in Anniston letting me know that the supply of service grade IBM carbines had run out and offering a 'downgrade' to a rack grade specimen.  I called Jennifer at the number she provided. She was very pleasant and helpful and assisted me in changing my order to a rack grade.  I really appreciate the courtesy and consideration shown here. Better a rack grade than none at all, and thanks to Jennifer, I had the opportunity to get one.  My dealings with CMP have always been very positive, but this one is truly outstanding.
Thank you. Todd T .

Salutations CMP. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone on your staff at the Anniston, Alabama CMP office. Last month, as a first time CMP buyer I didn't know what to expect when I ordered the rifles, nonetheless I was beside myself with anticipation to get them. I salute all of you at CMP for continuing to live up to your outstanding reputation, the rifles arrived sooner than expected and in perfect shipping boxes, cudo's to your packaging department and FedEx. To my great surprise, I received three beautiful M1's in what you grade as "service". I am currently an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps (for the last 27 years) and I can state for the record that what I received were three, post WWII weapons in what I consider "excellent" condition. I am not sure what others expect for a weapon over five decades old but I was more than impressed with the functional condition and appearance of the three H & R M1's that I ordered. In today's world of online and mail ordering I had thought that getting what you paid for was a thing of the past, well thank God for CMP and all of your employees, you have restored my hope in honest and faithful service. It was with great confidence that my order for three more M1's was put in the mail this morning, the anticipation begins again ;-) . In closing, It is my intent to let everyone I know hear a word of praise for CMP and your superior business practices. I especially hope that everyone at CMP hears a word of praise for supporting those of us trying to keep the freedoms of shooting and collecting firearms alive and well in this wonderful country of ours. Wishing you and our country continued success in the fight for freedom. Semper Fidelis. Jay Lee L.

Hello, Just wanted to say the M1 Rifle arrived safe and sound. It's condition far exceeded my expectations. The stock was flawless and the action was very smooth. The turnaround time was just under two weeks, much faster than I counted on. This little piece of engineering and military history I'll treasure for years to come. Regards, Tony W.

I just would like to take a moment to say thank you to the staff at CMP North. I was there yesterday. They staff were helpful, kind and efficient, an excellent experience to go with the excitement of the purchase of my new M1! I walked around the Matches and vender area to top off a wonderful day, even with the four hour drive each way.  Thanks again for the great day.  John G .

I got my Springfield Armory Garand in service grade a few weeks ago.  It was in far better condition than I expected and it's a tackdriver!  I wish to express my deep appreciation to CMP and those people behind CMP who provide an outstanding service.  The people I had contact with were very helpful with my purchase and they kept me well informed.  Kevin P ., Police Sergeant - Kingsburg P.D.

My M1 got here about 2 hrs. ago. Ordered on June 26 -- great service, and a good rifle too. It shoots very good - can't wait to really see how accurate it is. It'll probably shoot better than I can hold. The ammo ordered with it came last week. Ya'll do good work - I'm very pleased. Thank you -- Ed B .

Hello CMP staff,   I had a very nice first visit to the north store on July 7th. The staff was very friendly and worked well together to keep up with the customers during the IBM / Standard Products carbine release day. Thank you for a enjoyable day 'shopping' for a new 'toy'.  Tom

Hello, We recently received 3 M-1 Garands and ammunition I ordered from you. My son ordered one and the other 2 were mine. We were very happy with the condition of these rifles. Its was my 19 years old sons first real rifle and he was grinning the whole time we took them apart and cleaned them. Thank you so much, I'm glad there is an organization such as yours, to provide this opportunity for us. Best Regard, Dudley C .

Hi,  I received my 1st Garand from the CMP on June 30 & I'm very pleased! I ordered a correct grade SA or HRA & a SA arrived. It's a beautiful Garand that even exceeded my expectations. This definitely won't be my last, as I'm already trying to decide on a second one. I can definitely see a trip to the North store in my future. Thank you to everyone at the CMP & keep up the great work you do!  Bruce C.

Just wanted to extend my thanks for the M1 Garand you sent to me recently. I ordered a Sevice Grade and it appears in very good condition. After I dis-assembled it and gave it a good cleaning I has a gunsmith inspect it. He gave a big thumbs up and I then took it to the range on 3 July 2008. I had never fired one of these rifles before so I familiarized myself with a bandoleer of the Greek surplus you sold me as well. After sighting it in for 100 yds I let it cool for 15 minutes then loaded some more of the greek 30-06 ammunition in it. I slow fired two groups, the first three shot group was a bit high but grouped roughly 1.5 inches. I adjusted the sights and fired the second group which was near dead center and grouped in at .627 inches. Needless to say I am very pleased with its performance and look forward to firing it again soon. Thanks for sending me such a fine rifle. Again, thanks very much and best regards-- Jason D. M. Idaho

My M1 Garand arrived last week, and I just wanted to let CMP know how much I appreciate the quick turnaround of my order. The rifle arrived much sooner than I ever thought, and I couldn't be happier with it. The CMP performs a great service, and gets a great big and well deserved "Thank You" from me! Eferry

I received the correct and service grade M1s I ordered and you again far exceeded my expectations, the correct grade is great, but the service grade for sure will be my favorite. It was mfg. in June 1941 and is beautiful! I read somewhere that pre-war rifles suffered a very high attrition rate during the war, that the old girl survived is a miracle in itself. I could care less if all the parts arn't "correct", the receiver is the heart and soul of an M1 and that is orginal! Again let me thank you good people at CMP for the kind of service that was common 50-60 years ago and sadly is so rare today. Jerry, Georgia

Christine, Regarding the latest update, outstanding work again by the whole CMP crew! New or improved programs, expanded scholarships, new or improved facilities, new rifle and accessory offerings and the super relationships CMP has developed with the ONG and NRA leadership are shining examples of what can be done when one's heart is in the program. You all should be justifiably proud of how the program has progressed into its second century. Somewhere President Teddy Roosevelt has a big grin and is saying a hearty Bully for the CMP! Regards, LTC John B. F. Ret.

On April 19, 2007 I took delivery of my first Garand from the CMP.  This M1 is special to me. We were both born about the same time. My birth day is Feb. 4, 1944 and the best I can figure the date of this M1 is Feb. 9, 1944.  This is figured from the serial numbers delivreed during the month of Feburary 1944. Who knows this M1 could have been assembled the day I was born.  I have since taken delivery of two more M1 Garands and two Inland carbines. I look forward to doing more business with the CMP.  I have found all of the people at the CMP friendly and great to do business with.  Keep up the good work.  Gene . Illinois

Received my service grade Springfield today. It is in great shape! Parkerizing is almost complete. Few dings in stock - but it shows character. Can hardly wait for ammo to ship, so that I can try it out on range. By the way - mailed order on June 5th, received rifle on 7/2!!  Jim R .

July 2, 2008

Howdy Folks,  Just received my latest CMP M-1 Garand, a Correct Grade Springfield.  Once again the CMP has exceeded expectations.  I keep on saying "this is my last CMP rifle", but ever since 1964, I keep coming back to the well!  I hope you can continue your good works. And oh my goodness, how fast you are shipping!  Actually, I think that the cold war did many of us gun collectors a serious favor when the USA, England, and Russia all went into overdrive manufacturing WWII rifles in the mid-1950s, since so many of those rifles have survived in near mint condition, considering they were immediately replaced by M-14, FAL, and AK-47. Mint WWII Garands are quite rare, but you, the CMP, have sent me several near virgin examples. Congratulations, and thank you!  Lawrence L. S .

Lynn,  I don’t know who to thank for the very nice M1 Garand that was delivered to my house…BUT I sure would like to say thank you to all concerned and involved. Words cannot adequately convey my sense of joy and happiness with the condition of this rifle. I cleaned the rifle and test fired it on the range…not only did it perform well, but at a hundred yards I shot an 80/80 with the iron sights using LC ball ammo!! I am amazed….  Please let everyone involved in my process know that I really appreciate what they did for me. Ben R .

My second ammo order came in today , 31 days after  order date.  I could not ask for better service. With orders going up 10 fold you guys are doing a great job. Keep it up. Thanks for the service you do.   Martin B .
