Hi, Thank you for allowing me to participate once again in the CMP experience. I started getting involved with you guys since the DCM days, and have since made several purchases with the CMP. My latest acquisition is a fine M1 Carbine that now has a new home. Thanks for listening to my requests and doing your best to fill the order. All the best, T.S.

I have bought several rifles, sights, ammo and accessories from CMP over several years and have been COMPLETELY satisfied on EVERY occasion. CMP, you are a class act and I VERY MUCH appreciate the time, effort, energy, and attention to detail that I have received on all my transactions. THANK YOU!    Al D.

CMP,  I received my Winchester Carbine the other day. I finally got a chance to strip it down and clean it. When I pulled it out of the box, it was a sticky, nasty mess. After a complete disassemble I found a gun I couldn't believe. A low serial # gun that appeared to have never been used, if so only slightly. All the parts were tight and well fitted. Very old cosmoline(sp) that required some soaking to loosen. The stock was just about incased in the stuff. Now that I'm done and it's got a fresh coat of oil on the parts. I've got a GREAT GUN. For my first CMP purchase I couldn't be happier.  Lee R. S.C.

CMP is a great organization and a reliable way for U.S. military firearms enthusiast to purchase top quality firearms. My latest purchase was an M1 Rock-Ola M1 Carbine. Like the M1D and M1903A I purchased from CMP, the service, price and quality is top notch. When I purchase a rifle from CMP, I know exactly what I am getting, that's something I can't say about purchases at gun shows or other online sites. Keep up the good work and I will continue to visit your site for that next rifle for my collection. Mark B

Dear Good People at CMP .  On my way home from Nashville, I had stopped by your store in Anniston. It was hard to keep from buying a rifle on the spot. I did buy some Carbine ammo for the though. Everyone at your store was exceptionally nice, and very helpful. I had placed an order for two (2) M-1 Carbines, and they arrived earlier, than I assumed they would. Both arrived in great condition, and I couldn't be more happy.
Thanks again . Rod H .

I received a Rock Ola service grade carbine from the CMP.  Very nice.  Nice Rock Ola barrel, receiver, and various Rock Ola parts.  Well worth the wait.  What a great piece of history!  What great service as always! Thanks, CMP!  Philip

Ordered my first Garand from CMP in 1998 or 1999. Since then I have been a steady customer for a variety of military rifles. The latest, a Rock-Ola rack grade, substituted after service grades were sold out. In all these years, I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. The Rock-Ola racker has a pretty good muzzle and a bright and shiny bore. No pitting or rust anywhere on the rifle. Rack gradego figure. Thanks, again for a job well done. Your staff was excellent in communicating all through the process. I know that you understand that the vast majority of us can not thank you and your staff enough for the job you do and the mission you accomplish. charles b.

Thanks to both you and your staff - I was on of those bad people that got two Rock-olas and QHMCs. All four are great as usual. Thanks. Robert L.

Hi, I received the Winchester M-1 Carbine I ordered on Feb 15, approximately twenty-eight business days after ordering. It was packed very well and relatively clean. All associated documents and items were present. I am delighted with the overall condition of the weapon and that all receiver parts and slide are indeed Winchester. I was pleasantly surprised that the stock is USGI walnut. Thanks for your excellent service. Rob T. Tucson, AZ

This is a belated letter to thank you and all at the CMP. I have been ordering M1's and a M1 Carbine and ammo for over seven years. In that time everything that i have received has been as stated. Sometimes certain parts may even be better than graded. I recently received a H&R M1 (service grade) that was close to very good in overall appearance. When taken to the range it shot a group that was excellent. All ammo that i have ordered has been as stated or better. Once again i thank each and every person at the CMP for the pride and effort they expend in filling orders and doing their jobs. Sincerely. Pat Mc.

I just wanted to tell you how excited I was to receive my service grade M1 Garand. The rifle is absolutely beautiful and I can't say enough great things about all the team at Anniston and the excellent customer service! Thanks for all your dedication and hard work! Mike J.

February 16, 2008

My M1 Carbine came today and it was better than I thought it was going to be. Thank you CMP. Scott P .

February 15, 2008

I received my CMP M1 Garand "Special" in November of 2007. It is absolutely beautiful and shoots like a dream. At the range it is always a show stopper, causing others to just look at it. Believe it or not I have yet to wack my thumb. Thanks for great firearm and piece of American history. Scott M. Juneau, Alaska

February 15, 2008

Dear Sirs: I have bought M1 Garands from the program and have never been disappointed. Mine have both been really fine rifles. I have two service grade rifles and they are both very accurate and I love them. I sure hope some 1917 Enfields become available again, also. Best wishes and many thanks! Mike B.

February 13, 2008

Just received my M1 Garand today.  I am really glad to have a piece of "History."  While for the most part I am satisfied with the workings of the weapon, the overall appearance is terrible.   The stock has numerous deep gouges and in a couple of areas the stain has been scratched of an plain wood is showing.  The stain/paint has been redone and it appears that a preschooler did it because there is heavy paint/stain runs with the bubbles drying up in puddles and the stain/paint heavier in some areas than others.  While I ordered a "service grade weapon" which states it should have "minor cracks, dings, scratches or gouges," I feel this is not accurate in describing this weapon.  A friend of mine received her Garand lakst week with a serial number in the mid forties and is in much better shape than this one.  I know you have limited qunities and qualities, but this one does not fit the "grade."  Thanks,  Fred B .

February 11, 2008

Just wanted to drop you a line and say "Thanks" for the fine Garand you sent. I know you all are busy but you still replied to my e-mail quickly and explained the process a little better. I am very pleased with the service. Keep up the good work. PS, I may see you soon as I am going to be in the area. Maybe I'll be able to find another rifle. C. Sincerely, Charlie G. Navarre FL.

Thanks for excellent fast service and  a very good selection in my recently received order of  Winchester and Rock-Ola carbines.   W.

February 9, 2008

Dear CMP, just received my latest GARAND, a high 5 million rifle, and as always a thrill. To those reading in this Forum, I'm a 30 something Army Officer who recently crossed over after being a Navy Officer for 9 years. When I went thru Navy Officer Candidate School at NAS Pensacola, I was issued ol Mr. Garand to help me develop my "discipline and teamwork" according to that sinister Marine Corps Drill Instructor, GYSGT Randy I. Krank. I never sweated or dreaded a man so much as he would kill me and my classmates on the "Grinder" everyday holding all 11 pounds of my Garand at various torcherous positions when anybody so much as sneezed or flinched on his drill pad. But at the same time, I fell in love with the feel of that old rifle and sometimes wondered how many enemy S.O.B's died at the business end of my piece. Today with just a little bit of patience, it makes me very happy to be able to own one of these critical pieces of history. Thankyou CMP, Semper Fi to the Corps and Navy who trained me, and glad to be ARMY STRONG! CPT C. USA

February 8, 2008

Received my 3rd Garand from you recently, a post war HRA service grade. Again you have surpassed the service grade specs by a wide margin. Throat was a 2, and the muzzle a 2. Minor metal wear. The stock was rather dinged up, but no cracks or anything major. I'll take that in trade for the condition of the rest of the rifle any day. Very happy with this rifle, as well of the other Garland's and Carbines I've purchased. The whole CMP experience has been extraordinary. I think I'm good on rifles for a while, at least until the next thing comes along. I'm asked "how many do you need", and my reply is always "just one more". Thanks again to Lindsey, Christine, and the whole crew. Steve L. Portland, OR

February 5, 2008

I received my Springfield service grade M1 Garand today.  It checks out fine and is in much better shape than I expected it to be.  A worthy old veteran.  A special thanks to Lynne for patiently explaining the process to me when I got "antsy" a few days ago over my order of October   27, 2007.  It was worth the wait.  Thanks to all you good people.  James N .   Texas

To All The Wonderful People at CMP, Just wanted to take a moment to say Thank You, for the wonderful service, and two beautiful service grade grands I have received. I began the order process in September 2007, and since have received a Springfield , and HRA  both service grades. These rifles were not only beautiful, and shoot a lot better than I can, but the entire process dealing with you has been a real joy. Made the trip to the North Store in December, and picked up a nice Rack Grade Inland Carbine, again a real treat to deal with such wonderful people. I would ( and have ) recommend you to all my friends that qualify to purchase from you. At this time 2 have ordered, with one already receiving two excellent weapons, and one waiting and checking every day. I have been a shooter for a long time, and carried the carbine while in the Air Force 65-69, since that time I have been in Law Enforcement for going on 39 years. Thank You, for making it possible for all of us to Fall In Love All Over Again.  Rich H .   Indiana

February 3, 2008

Dear CMP, I ordered my Garand in September, and finally got it Mid December 2007. You folks were very nice and put up with my impatience every step of the way. I can't say enough good things about the staff at CMP! I had my Garand checked out by a local gunsmith and he said it was is excellent condition. My first time at the firing range with it (admittedly,a while after I received it - 2/2/08), guys were drooling over it. They all took an active part in sighting it in. Took no time at all to consistently hit objects at 100 yards. That was the most fun I'd had in a long time. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts! You've got another fan. -Mike M.

February 2, 2008

Hello to all, Thanks to all of you for what you do. I'm going to be ordering my first rifles from you soon. I have some 1903's and a Garand that I inherited from my father. I am intending on rehabbing them this year. I also intend to purchase a couple of carbines (if permitted). What I would like to see the CMP do, is to offer replacement stocks for the 1903 Springfields. Both of my rifles need to have the stocks replaced, and I'm learning that it isn't so easy to find them. I also do not want to fire a rifle with a cracked stock. I'm looking forward to doing business with all of you. Thanks, Jack L.

I Rec’d My M1 Rifle today and what a let down it was, as of this email I am only talking about the stock condition. My order was for a service grade rifle, the stock on this one made me sick to look at it. The whole rifle stock is covered with dings scratches and gouges, to many to count unless a person wanted to spent hours doing so.  The stock on this rifle at best is a Rack grade.  I am having my gunsmith check the rest of the weapon to verify that its meets the a service grade requirement. Needless to say I am not a happy customer. Will let you know if there is any other issues after the licensed gunsmith inspects this rifle.  Franklin H .

February 1, 2008

In the last four days I have received two M1 carbines (Winchester and Rock-Ola), a replacement stock for my Inland carbine, and a buttplate which was missing from the Rock-Ola carbine. The latter two items were resolved by phone calls to Customer Service. I was very pleased with the items received. Their condition is better than I had hoped for. The personnel I talked with concerning the two minor problem areas were very efficient, pleasant and helpful, with good nature and some humor. Considering that your organization must be very busy these days, it was refreshing to deal with people who were anxious to ensure customer satisfaction. Your organization presents an excellent example to similar groups, both governmental and commercial. Thank you for all you do. It is appreciated by target shooters (formal and informal), collectors, history buffs, and all taxpayers. Joseph P. W
