The 2006 National Match Schedule is now posted on the CMP website. The CMP plans to add a new M9 EIC Pistol Match that will be fired on 11 July in conjunction with the Pistol Small Arms Firing School. The popular M16 EIC Rifle Match will be moved to Sunday, 30 July, where it will be part of the Rifle Small Arms Firing School. One additional day was added to the National Trophy Rifle Matches schedule. The Rifle Small Arms Firing School and USMC Junior Highpower clinic will begin one day earlier. Other matches fired during the week also will be moved up one day so that the Garand Match can be fired on Saturday, 5 August, while using both Camp Perry highpower ranges. These changes will allow for significantly increased entries in the Garand, Springfield and M16 EIC matches and help to accommodate many shooters who were waitlisted or discouraged from entering those matches in 2005. The preliminary 2006 National Matches schedule can be viewed at: http://www.odcmp.com/NationalMatches.htm. A copy of the FY2005 CMP Annual Report is now on the web. This report is produced annually and copies are delivered to the Secretary of the Army. The FY05 report can be viewed at: http://www.odcmp.com/Annual_Report.pdf. Eastern Nebraska Gun Club held a Toys 4 Tots Match on October 22, 2005 and collected many toys in place of entry fees. The 50 round, 200 yard match was open to any WWII or Korean type military rifle. The match goal of attracting new shooters and collecting lots of toys was easily met. Match scores and pictures can be viewed at: http://www.papillion.ne.us/~nssa/cmp.htm. The University of Nebraska Lincoln Club Rifle Team will hold open three position smallbore matches on November 6, 13, 20, and December 4 and 11, 2005. The Matches will be broken down into Middle School, High School, Collegiate, and Open Categories with prizes awarded in each category. NRA Smallbore rules apply. Club rifles and equipment will be available free of charge, and ammo will be available for purchase. Contact Ben Jochum at 402-417-5832, or benjochum@yahoo.com for more information or registration. Scott Rupp has been named editor of Guns & Ammo, among the world's largest gun titles. Rupp, a collegiate All-American rifle shooter and former member of the elite U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, began his editorial career at the American Rifleman magazine, and went on to work at Pennsylvania Game News, Pennsylvania Sportsman, New York Sportsman and Michigan Hunting and Fishing before he was named editor of Petersen's Hunting six years ago. Rupp will also play a prominent role in the production of Guns & Ammo Television, entering its 4th consecutive season on The Outdoor Channel. JROTC Postal deadlines and rules can be found on the CMP website at: http://www.odcmp.com/3P.htm.
The Western CMP Games and Creedmoor Cup Matches are set to begin. Registration will be taken through November 5th, and matches and clinics will take place from November 5th-13th. For more information and updated scores go to http://clubs.odcmp.com/results.

Paralympic Shooting Training Camp Held at Lakeshore Foundation - U. S. Paralympic Shooting coach Dan Durben hopes to develop a strong team for the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing. Dan Jordan, the new coach of the Alaska Fairbanks Rifle Team, was the only U.S. shooter to qualify for the 2004 Athens Paralympics so athlete development programs are desperately needed to increase U. S. representation. An initial step toward change took place on October 21-23 when the first Paralympic Shooting Camp was held by Durben and assistant Paralympic coach Sommer Wood. The camp was attended by a strong pool of athletes who participated in three days of intense training in both pistol and rifle.
