CMP Military Rifle Instructors are assigned to work as members of instructional teams which travel to military installations to conduct U. S. Army Squad Designated Marksman (SDM) Instructor Courses.  Photos are now posted from the Fort Hood, Fort Lewis and Fort Benning SDM courses.  Visit the CMP Events Photos page, http://www.odcmp.com/Photos/05/Index.htm to view these and other CMP event photos.

Regulations and Applications for the 2006-2007 CMP College Scholarships are now posted on the CMP website.  The $1000 scholarship is available to high school seniors and college underclassmen who excel in rifle marksmanship and who are enrolled in Army, Navy, or Marine Corps JROTC or ROTC programs.  For more information go to,  http://www.odcmp.com/Programs/Scholarship.htm.

Garand Writing Sticks now available. The CMP Garand Writing Sticks are once again available in limited quantities. These pencils are manufactured from USGI walnut Garand stocks that were broken beyond repair. Each writing stick is laser engraved with a cartouche and CMP logo and packaged in a walnut presentation box. $44.95 each. Selected Anschütz Rifles Now Available through CMP Affiliate Rifle Sales - The CMP recently concluded a new agreement that will add selected Anschütz rifles to its Affiliate Rifle Sales Program. Now, target rifles made by the famed German arms maker that are especially suitable as club and team rifles and for new and intermediate level shooters can be purchased from the CMP at special club prices. For the first time, the CMP now offers a smallbore target rifle other than the government surplus target rifles that it sold previously.

Ohio Juniors Take Part in First CMP Match Day Clinic - For years, CMP has offered training in air rifle to experienced juniors and their coaches through the CMP Three-Position Junior Air Rifle Camps. This past weekend the focus was shifted to shooters who have never fired in a match. The CMP Match Day Clinic was designed to walk juniors and their coaches through the process of a three-position air rifle match. The idea was to provide those in attendance with the tools to coordinate and host their own matches, and foster connections among junior programs in Ohio.
