Sanctioned 3-Position Air Rifle Matches
The National Three-Position Air Rifle Council sanctions three-position air rifle matches to:
- officially recognize competitions conducted under the National Standard Three-Position Air Rifle Rules,
- foster the conduct of high quality competitions for juniors,
- provide a readily accessible public listing of three-position air rifle matches,
- facilitate the awarding of National Council Achievement Pins and EIC points, and
- recognize national records.
The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) administers the Council’s match sanctioning program. Any club, team, school or group affiliated with a member organization of the National Three-Position Air Rifle Council may apply to have their three-position air rifle matches sanctioned. Please read the instructions before completing your application. The CMP sanctioned more than 125 state and regional competitions for 5,000 junior competitors in 2010.
Once your club submits the application form to hold a Sanctioned Match, the application will be reviewed by our Three-Position Air Rifle Department. Once it is approved, the CMP will post information about your match in the Upcoming Events listing on the CMP website. The CMP also offers Certificates of Achievement to distribute to participants, CBIs (Clear Barrel Indicators), CMP Rulebooks ($2.00 each) and 3-P Air Rifle Achievement Pins ($1.00 each).
Match sponsors may order National Council Achievement Pins for presentation or sale to competitors who fire achievement award scores that are listed in the National Standard Rules. Gold, silver and bronze pins are available for $1.00 each and can be ordered on the Application Form. State Junior Olympic Medals are also available to those match directors who are sponsoring their state Junior Olypmic match. These medals cost $6.00 each.
