CMP COMPETITION CENTER SOUTH:
CMP Competition Center South, 1470 Sentinel Dr, Anniston, Calhoun, Alabama 36207

The CMP constructed the new Anniston
Competition Center in 2008 and completed the installation of electronic targets
on the range in 2009. The Center has a common area with classrooms, offices,
changing rooms and ADA compliant restrooms. The facility features a 20,000 sq.
foot state-of-the-art air gun range. The Competition Center has 80 firing
points, all equipped with MEGALink electronic targets. All shots are instantly
displayed on monitors beside each shooter and on display screens visible to
spectators in the center area of the range. All firing is controlled by a
computer operations center in the middle of the range.
COMPETITION EVENTS:
Clinic – On Saturday 14 November 2009, there will be a clinic for
interested junior and senior shooters in the classroom at the CMP facility. The
clinic will start at 2:15 PM after the BBQ lunch and will last about one hour.
Those who wish to attend the clinic are asked to email James Hall regarding
their intent to attend (jhall@odcmp.com).

their best to shoot in this competition as well. This is a great opportunity to
shoot with some of the best shooter’s in the US!
SANCTIONING & RULES:
The 2009 Dixie Double is sanctioned by USA Shooting, the U. S. Olympic shooting
governing body, as a sanctioned preliminary tryout (PTO). Scores from this match
will be used for PSA (Performance Standard Average) and PSI (Performance
Standard Individual) qualifying. Competitors in this match need to be members of
USA Shooting. The competition will be governed by USA Shooting Rules.
Copies of the rules may be downloaded from the USA Shooting website at
http://www.usashooting.com/rulebook.php.
SQUADDING:
For each relay, 40 targets will be set up for air rifle and 40 targets for air
pistol. Please indicate on your registration the relay on which you would
prefer to fire. We will try to honor squadding requests, but relays will be
filled in order that entries are received. Squadding will be reversed for
Sunday’s match; the 1st relay on Saturday will shoot second on Sunday. Squadding
be posted on-line for all entries received by Tuesday, 10 November. Any entries
received after that time will be given their squadding after they register or
when they check in at the match.
CLEAR BARREL INDICATORS (CBI):
The use of CBI’s in all air rifles and pistols is required at CMP Marksmanship
Centers. The CBI is a length of brightly colored string trimmer line that is
inserted through the bore and that is sufficiently long for both ends to
protrude from the muzzle and breech. CBI’s provide visual confirmation that air
guns are unloaded. CBI’s must be inserted after rifles are uncased and when not
firing or in preparation period. CBI’s will be available on the range for those
that do not have them.
