SANCTIONING & RULES:

The 2009 Dixie Double is sanctioned by USA Shooting, the U. S. Olympic shooting governing body, as a sanctioned preliminary tryout (PTO). Scores from this match will be used for PSA (Performance Standard Average) and PSI (Performance Standard Individual) qualifying. Competitors in this match need to be members of USA Shooting. The competition will be governed by USA Shooting Rules. Copies of the rules may be downloaded from the USA Shooting website at http://www.usashooting.com/rulebook.php.

SQUADDING:

For each relay, 40 targets will be set up for air rifle and 40 targets for air pistol. Please indicate on your registration the relay on which you would prefer to fire. We will try to honor squadding requests, but relays will be filled in order that entries are received. Squadding will be reversed for Sunday’s match; the 1st relay on Saturday will shoot second on Sunday. Squadding be posted on-line for all entries received by Tuesday, 10 November. Any entries received after that time will be given their squadding after they register or when they check in at the match.

CLEAR BARREL INDICATORS (CBI):
The use of CBI’s in all air rifles and pistols is required at CMP Marksmanship Centers. The CBI is a length of brightly colored string trimmer line that is inserted through the bore and that is sufficiently long for both ends to protrude from the muzzle and breech. CBI’s provide visual confirmation that air guns are unloaded. CBI’s must be inserted after rifles are uncased and when not firing or in preparation period.
